Care Instructions
We want you to enjoy your knitwear for a long time so here is our preferred washing method.
Begin by filling your sink with lukewarm water then submerge your items to rinse. Take care not to make the water hot and do not agitate. Gently swirl and swish your item in the water. Drain your sink and lightly squeeze the excess water out.
Fill your sink again with lukewarm water and add a capful of liquid wool wash. If using a bar, rub it together between your hands under the running faucet . Our favorite brand of wool washes and bars is Sudz ‘n Dudz but you can use baby shampoo in a pinch. Submerge your items remembering not to agitate. If you need to use a bar to get out stubborn spots, please be gentle. Agitation and friction can cause your item to felt!
If you need to lanolize your wool, to a cup of hot water add a pea size amount lanolin. Add a drop of wool wash and stir or shake until the mixture gets milky/cloudy. You are ready to add this to your sink of water and clean woolies. Again, gently swish the water around to distribute the lanolin.
Drain your sink and rinse gently under the running water. Being careful not to wring or twist, gently squeeze excess water from your item. To get the maximum amount of water out, lay your item on a towel and gently roll it up inside. Now lay the item flat to dry and fix shaping if necessary.
Done!
